Out of the shadow

The skin is still thin, tender and fragile. The eyes are fierce, suspicious like wild animals. Words are rare, modest and sometimes clumsy. How many fights every day between dreams, how many rusty daggers lacerate every morning the delicate buds of forgotten childhood?
How many dark paths must we take, how many insurmountable cliffs to cross to see the vibrant glow of trust in the distance?

They walked the tortuous path and the intimate questioning. They defended themselves, then opened up, released. Like a fragile flower that finally opens, under the first rays of the morning.
Photographing the desistance, surrendering, confronting each other as head-on, would you know how to do it yourself? I'm not sure.

Yet they took the bull by the horns and this concept, so abstract, so far from them, they tortured, manipulated, stretched until they took it over. I think they have retained a road to walk, a hope, hidden at the end of a winding staircase. Far from a fixed and impersonal principle, they have tried here to tell an intimate and unfiltered vision of this journey, of this shift. This breath that we hold back so as not to fall slowly on a slippery slope. Desistance may begin with a slight rocky outcrop on a smooth, vertical slab. Through a fault slowly dug into the rock, in which the fingers slip, the nails slip and cling to each other at the cost of superhuman effort. It's slowing the fall, looking up, seeing another way. Take a step back and take courage. So much courage.
In this word, desistance, there is a kind of abandonment, of laissez-faire. We're withdrawing. Whereas here, it is a fight they are talking about, a confrontation, violent and never completely won. No happy ending, there is always an episode to follow, in which everything can be questioned. But this fragility, this precariousness of which they speak to us, it is synonymous with truth, authenticity and the doubts they have and that they assume. We all have many lessons to learn from this.
